The Veiltail Jet Black Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) is a striking variety of angelfish known for its deep black coloration and long, flowing fins that resemble a veil. Native to the slow-moving waters of the Amazon River basin, it can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length and height. Ideal conditions include:
- Temperature: 24° - 28° C (75° - 82° F)
- pH: 6.0 - 7.5
- KH: 1 - 5 dKH
- Minimum tank size: 30 gallons
