Moonlight Gourami
The Moonlight Gourami (Trichopodus microlepis) is a graceful freshwater fish known for its shimmering, silvery appearance that resembles moonlight. Native to the slow-moving waters of Southeast Asia, this gourami can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) and thrives in well-planted aquariums with plenty of swimming space. Ideal conditions include:
- Temperature: 24° - 28° C (75° - 82° F)
- pH: 6.0 - 7.5
- KH: 2 - 10 dKH
- Minimum tank size: 30 gallons
Moonlight Gouramis are peaceful and gentle, making them suitable for community tanks with other non-aggressive fish. Their stunning silvery sheen and calm nature make them a beautiful and soothing addition to any aquarium setup.
