The Geophagus Redhead Tapajos (Geophagus sp. "Redhead Tapajos") is a captivating cichlid known for its distinctive red and orange head and streamlined body. Native to the Tapajos River in Brazil, it grows up to 8 inches (20 cm) and thrives in spacious, well-decorated tanks. Ideal conditions include:
- Temperature: 24° - 28° C (75° - 82° F)
- pH: 6.0 - 7.5
- KH: 4 - 12 dKH
- Minimum tank size: 75 gallons
Geophagus Redhead Tapajos are peaceful and hardy, adding both colour and interest to larger aquariums, particularly when provided with plenty of hiding spots and space.
