The Denisoni Barb (Sahyadria denisonii), also known as the Roseline Shark or Red Line Torpedo Barb, is a sleek, fast-swimming fish with striking red and black stripes running along its silver body. Native to the rivers of India, it can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) and thrives in spacious, well-planted tanks with ample swimming room. Ideal conditions include:
- Temperature: 22° - 27° C (72° - 81° F)
- pH: 6.5 - 7.8
- KH: 5 - 12 dKH
- Minimum tank size: 55 gallons
Denisoni Barbs are active, peaceful, and best kept in schools, making them a vibrant and dynamic addition to larger community aquariums.
